DIY Dreamers

Prefer to start with a quote and keep things flexible? No problem! We offer free estimates for customers who come prepared. Here’s what we need:

  • Room Type: Let us know what you’re working on (kitchen, closet, mudroom, etc.).
  • Measurements & Dimensions: Grab a tape measure and jot down the details. Download our handy PDF Measuring Guide to get started.
  • Photos of the Space: Snap a few pics so we can see what we’re working with.
  • Materials and Styles: Visit us in showroom or let us know what materials and styles you would like to use. (Including: door style, cabinet material, drawer material, exterior finish’s, accessories and any special wants or needs)

Bring this information to one of our design and sales consultants, and we’ll provide you with a fair and transparent estimate—no strings attached.

Ready To Move Forward?

1. Secure Your Spot with a 25% Project Deposit

Once a project deposit is received, a building slot is booked with our builder and your project is now underway to becoming reality. Lead times are typically 8-12 weeks from time of order.

2. Finalize Designs, Pricing, and Measurements

With your designer, make any changes or final touches to the design blueprints. With the semi finalized plans, your designer will return to your project site to double check measurements prior to order. Using the now final measurements, your designer will send off the project to our cabinetry engineers for finalization and final pricing. Any pricing changes are applied to the final payment for the project.

3. Project Sign-Off & Second Deposit

With final measurements and pricing in place, your designer will present the complete design package for your review. At this stage, you’ll have the opportunity to approve all details of your project. Once approved, we collect a second 25% deposit, bringing the total production deposit to 50% of the project subtotal. With your sign-off and production deposit received, your project will be submitted to our builders to begin the construction phase.

4. Cabinetry Production/Construction

Our skilled Mennonite builders require 8-12 weeks to produce and deliver your custom millwork project to your home. During this time our team will continue to work with you to ensure preparation of the site is complete and ready for cabinetry.

5. Installation

J&J maintains an up to date list of approved installers who have the knowledge and the skill sets to install our Mennonite built cabinetry. Or you may complete the install personally or with a third party installer of your choosing. Installation rates for our approved installers typically range from 12-15% of the cost of the cabinetry.
